James Loss is a former faculty member of Texas Tech University, where he taught courses in creative media production, writing & rhetoric, and social science research. During this time, he also worked as a freelance communications consultant across the Southwest. He developed strategy and produced creative content for brands like Lifetime Products and Chumba USA, as well as non-profit organizations like Texas Water Foundation and the McDonald Observatory. In 2022 he received the Audience Choice Award from Flatland Film Festival for his documentary film, Dirtbag.
In everything James does, he chases the most compelling story. From spending all his free time trying to become a novelist to choosing marketing as a career, he believes in the power of a good story to create community and drive impact. And this is why he left the comforts of a career in higher education to take the helm of Assured Strategy’s marketing: no good story comes from being comfortable.
