Hello, I’m David, long time resident of Las Vegas, Army veteran, award winning Forbes Councils member, and business coach who’s helped many Fortune 5000 companies and their CEOs Scale Up their business.
That’s a lot to absorb, but look, I haven’t always had my ducks in a row. You know what they say about overnight successes, and I’m here to tell you that’s not true. In fact, you might say I’ve got a Phd from the University of Hard Knocks. Around the age of 12 I was nearly arrested. When I was 15, I lived on the streets for a year and a half. During my Army days in Germany, I had my cage rattled frequently when our bases were being bombed frequently.
The silver-lining in my story was that there were bright spots amidst all this that hinted at what I could become if I really focused. At age 11 I had three newspaper delivery routes. When I was 16, I started my first business. What began as a lawn-mowing venture for a driven teenager with major aspirations, grew to be a landscaping service that I sold when I turned 19 to join the Army. When I left the Army, I could do 250 situps or 112 pushups in 2 minutes. But that gave me discipline that I would later put to use in managing companies.
By the time I was 35, I owned one of the most successful CPA firms in Las Vegas. I’ve been awarded one of the most influential people in Las Vegas and in the past have been named a Top 40 under 40 for Nevada and Las Vegas. My accounting firm was also named the #1 accounting firm in Nevada. That successful firm wasn’t the only business I started. Prior to that honor, there were many other businesses, which I often ended up selling just when they peaked or I when became frustrated with the results. Why would I do that? More importantly, why did some companies that I believed in and worked long hours to build never take off quite the way I hoped? And why would I just walk away when I knew they could be so much more? After spending years working on own systems and sitting on the board of directors of many public and private companies, I’ve taken to helping others build teams and implement solutions that actually work.
Through the failures and successes over the years and through educating myself using the patterns of other business masters and applying what they share to my own methods, I’ve mapped systems and processes that work not just for me, but for others as well. These systems are at the heart of my Scaling Up method. I have seen it work with over 250 companies that we’ve helped at Assured Strategy. This might be best exemplified when a company I have coached turns an 8% profit margin into a 23% profit margin while more than doubling their revenue. My mistakes are now my conscious mind, and it’s my strengths and vision that I would love to bring to you and your company.
